I use the same approach on wedding photography, concentrated on the true sense of the wedding day rather than building fake situations that would never happen otherwise..
…When I think at Wedding Photography, but the same is for every kind of photography, there are different way of seeing everything..
Some Photographers are more focused on some aspects, some are more techincal, and so on, with differents results and photo language every time..
What I shoot on a daily basis, are photos about storytelling, in a personal way of shooting, trying to tella about the sensations I get while shooting, telling without lies or intrusion the reality of the moment that captured me and inspired me to shoot.
I’m not born as a wedding photographer, and actually I work on many different photographic projects..I’ve totally clear in my mind what I search from photography and what I want to avoid..
I shoot reportages, with no distinction from the streets outside my house or thousand km from home..
I just fall in love with stories I want to tell about, I develop them, and by 3 different photo-agencies I work with, one of which I founded and still operate, I distribute those works for editorial or other kind of publications, or maybe the works are suitable for exibitions or private collections.
Photography is an expression media to me, I take photographs on a daily basis as a self expression on the aspects of my life, and often these shots work for editorial needs in different projects.
Along the year I follow photo-exibitions and workshops on photography as a self expression form to show photo enthusiasts the use of a camera as a personal diary.
A wedding has enough strong situations on his own, and there simply is no need to add bad-taste posed situations that have been seen thousand times, stopping the day several times to adapt it to “rules” that have no reason to exist, in my opinion.
Even portraits are made in spontaneous way, during the rolling of the day..
Rather than building a day that would have never existed without my intrusion, I try to give back in photographs the mood of the day, the real one, and to realize a reportage based on the details that make the day a special one, perhaps concentrating on details that passed away far from your attention during that day.
In this way no wedding reportages is born from any clichè and is like another one, but each one of them reflects the aspects that made it special to you.
I started and keeped shooting weddings thinking about the importance of what I had the opportunity of leaving behind, when the job is long-ended, and if free of shooting in my style, wedding reportage are fantastic experiences, that made me make new good friend several times…
You may think my studio has a big organization behind, but it’s not this way, my office is small and simple, I realize about 20 wedding in a year, so I can dedicate them the necessary time every year..
I like it this way.
